Will has been the most amazing estate agent I could hope for. But I would be lying if I said that that is all he has been. Will has been a chauffeur for many a house viewings, a designer helping me envision the property for myself but most of all a friend through the ups and downs of the house buying process. We worked together for a year before I purchased my dream first home and it’s all thanks to Will. He was there when my first purchase fell through and gave it his all for my second one. He worked harder than any one on the team and I can truly say is the best estate agent out there. And I would know, I came across 20 of them! I know that I will be making all future purchases and sales through Will and if he ever leaves the world of real estate, through Barnard Marcus because they surely know how to pick them. A massive thank you to everyone who made my dream come true including Lee and Kelly. I look forward to working together again one day!

AVOID THIS COMPANY.
The whole process with Barnard Marcus was a facade of ease for first time buyers like my brother and myself. A verbal agreement was made on a pay for incentive for the property with information regarding how it would be added to our share value (Shared Ownership) and ultimately our mortgage repayments, we went ahead and processed the reservation fee and mortgage lender quotes.
It wasn't until the very final stage of just before conversations with lenders that they turned around told us that we would need to find a considerably large amount for the pay for incentive, UPFRONT. There is no way, as a first time buyer that anyone would have that kind of money upfront. Absolutely ridiculous with 2 separate teams at the company stating that the other had incorrectly told me information regarding payment of the incentive (i.e. a lack of communication on their behalf on agreements and clarification on incentives).
Communication to us was incredibly poor throughout the process and only when we chased for contact information or where to make payments did they chirp up.
This company will feed you lies to secure a deal on a property.

I rent a flat through barnard marcus Ealing branch. I was contacted by James from the branch that his manager was going to visit my flat to do an evaluation as per landlord request. James said he would contact his manager, but I never got a reply from him, nor did I get an apology from whoever did the evaluation.

Hi, my experience with Barnard Marcus was very good and they helped me find my first property. In particular Kelly was very commandeering and was always proactive in finding and showing me properties in line with what I wanted and could afford and answered all my many questions. Kelly also took time to show me the area and amenities which was helpful as the area was new to me. Very friendly atmosphere as a whole. The whole process from Barnard Marcus was very painless. I have recently sold my house through Barnard Marcus Ealing and after be very sceptical I must say the whole experience was fast and hassle free . Kelly the manager has been In the industry for over 8 years and was very helpful with her professional advice and extensive knowledge of Ealing . James and Josh were the ones carrying out the viewings both boys were always so polite, worked around me and my schedule and always gave me great feedback . Would definitely recommend!

Completely baffled by these poor reviews, I personally found it a pleasure to deal with Barnard Marcus. James was excellent across multiple viewings me and my partner had with him. He was calm, collected, insightful and reassured us throughout the entire negotation process.
I was always able to talk with someone within the office, if James was not present. They were always helpful.
The office manager, Kelley I think her name, was also extremely helpful and is clearly an expert in the field and area. Displaying a large amount of knowledge of the area, industry and process.
I would use barnard marcus again as we were always greeted with a smile and made to feel like a valued customer, not another number.

Horrendous experience. Was shown the property by a Trainee who was inexperienced, happy to give the benefit of the doubt as just a Trainee. Her manager, William English was extremely rude, arrogant and inept. His behaviour was reprehensible even putting the phone down on my partner and bringing her close to tears with his condescending and aggressive tone. Issue escalated to Barnard Marcus Head Office and received a call from a William Christopher (Area Manager) who was polite and efficient though by this time the damage has been done. The branch's incompetence and appalling service caused the negotiation to fail. Whilst he was rude with me his behaviour towards my partners was markedly worse and I can only imagine this was motivated by her being female or because she is not English. I intend to raise my grievence with the Property Ombudsman.

Service so bad it verged on illegal. I had to threaten to report these guys to the property ombudsman due to their pressure tactics. Some of the low points included;
1. Floorplan that overestimated the sq ft on a one bedroom flat by nearly 150m. I am still considering the legality of this one.
2.)Unprofessional, shabbily dressed and inexperienced staff who are unable to answer the most basic of questions.
3.) Had nearly a complete turnover of staff during the course of our purchase, including moving to different branches and fired.
4.) High pressure tactics. Manager insisted that we visit the branch to meet a mortgage broker, when we declined were informed this was for "money laundering regulations", complete tosh. These guys were also threatening to put the flat back on the market within days of our offer being accepted, demanding paperwork be returned that they hadn't even sent yet! After several weeks of threats such as this I threatened to report them and they eased off a bit.
Overall a terrible service which benefited neither the seller nor the buyer, unfortunately the nature of the London market means that even guys as incompetent as these can stay afloat, there is such a demand for property.

1. If you don't use their mortgage provider and solicitor, it's unlikely they'll accept the offer. I used both to secured the offer. When I put in offer, they claimed the property has parking. They informed me after I paid for my mortgage broker fee etc that there's no parking.
2. All of the staffs kind of disappeared for months - only contact you when they need you to pay something or there's a deadline or I'm really pissed off. Never return your call and pick up rate by the correct person was less than 20%.
3. They spelled my name wrong, TWICE, on the contract - to be fair my full name has less than 10 characters.
4. Mortgage was horrible too - you need to provide more things then going to a branch yourself!
5. Both vendor and I used in-house solicitors. Legal took 4.5 months and the vendor's solicitor failed to get back to our esquires! Branch manager sounded to be helpful but I never seen any results getting back from them.
6. After 5 months, vendor decided to resell the property. Basically, no one protect buyer's interests. If you don't want to buy, you have to pay 4% to the vendor; but if he doesn't want to sell, he can just walk away.
Full story is too long to tell. I will NEVER use any service provided by Barnard Marcus

Extremely unproffessional!! This experience was a disaster from beginning to end, and the only reason the sale went through was due to great communication with the sellers direct.
We found out that our offed had been accepted from another company not through them, and then were told it was on the condition that we use their mortgage adviser and solicitor...this is illegal. They later withdrew that comment and said the sellers would prefer us to (also a lie). They gave us false solicitor details for our sellers (only found out the correct details again, by contacting the sellers direct. When asked to take property off the market following our survey and mortgage approval were told that Barnard Marcus do not show properties as sold as it attracts other buyers for other properties.
SELLERS ARE VERY UNHAPPY WITH SERVICE ALSO AND WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!! BE WARNED!!
